Putting technology where it had not been, in the language of whoever had to use it.

Mumbai. Latest stint, CTO and Head of AI Transformation at Luke Coutinho. Right now I am building small tools that run on your own machine, and taking a few consulting engagements.

I have been a CTO three times and a co-founder once. For six years I ran a digital business unit which I built from zero to 30% of company revenue. In between I was a product manager, owning products end to end. That is the part people ask me about the most, and the part I enjoyed most.

I saw the pattern only later. A nutritionist does not think in schemas. A mechanic outside Pune cannot read enough English to earn and burn his loyalty points, and he will not tell you that. A farm officer walking the fields for a sugar refinery in Gadchiroli had never used software before it landed on him. None of them asked for a system. All of them got one. The only question which mattered was whether it arrived in a form they already understood.

Right now I build small tools. Each one does a single thing for somebody who is not technical. Then I write up what I measured, including the parts I got wrong.

flyswat. I built a demo where a fly dodges your hand, using the published escape circuit from the fruit fly connectome. It looks great. Then I spent a week trying to break it, and the result was not what I wanted. Navy is the real wiring, grey is the same wiring shuffled while preserving degree, amber is raw camera pixels with no biology at all. The amber bars are the finding. Right now I am taking a few consulting engagements. Usually it is putting AI into production somewhere a wrong answer actually costs something. Write to me, I answer everything.
